Seattle Vibes

Yesterday as I was driving down Broadway, I passed the statue of Jimi Hendrix so I felt it was the opportune time to play some of his stuff. As I was sitting at the intersection of Cherry and Broadway and jamming to "Voodoo Child" a very dapper English looking gentleman crossed the street in front of me. He was dressed in a long cammel hair trench coat and matching cap. He stopped in front of my car. Moved his head a bit to the tune and tipped his cap at me before walking on. This is an interesting place.

I spent most of yesterday in Tumwater where my great, great, great uncle Daniel D. Kinsey married Ruth Brock in July of 1847. They were the first American couple married in the Puget Sound settlements. I had lunch of salmon on jasmine rice with a Fish Tail Irish Pale Ale and a slice of wonderful cheesecake with raspberry sauce for dessert.

Unfortunately, last night Joe got his bike stolen in downtown Seattle.

Today was spent exploring Edmunds and Mulkiteo before coming back to town and having a wonderful Mexican dinner with Joe and duskfrog

Peace,

Wander

I have another livejournal friend (out of 35ish) who is in Seattle this week for some time-off as well. Small world. :-)

It's a cool place to hang out in. I'm usually quite allergic to going to cities for any length of time but I feel OK here. Plus my brother is a musician so I'm getting exposed to lots of new sounds and that's never a bad thing.

I never cared much for Hendrix until Kronos Quartet covered Purple Haze. Still think their version is better than the original.

Interesting family history snippet. It's always kind of amazing to discover those little details about one's own family, and it's quite nice to hear them about others, too.
