Calling all computer geeks

I have an HP SCSI Ultra 3- 36.4 GB hard drive that was part of our server at work. Is there some kind of adapter I could use to essentially turn this into an IDE hard drive to use in one of my Macs or PCs?

You can get a SCSI card and cable for it, but it's only 36GB, not wortht he effort. Now if you had a fast controller card,it would be much faster thn IDE drive, good place of the OS.

It was given to me so I'm not out any money on it. I think i may just sell it on Ebay or something and put that money toward a nicer IDE drive.

unfortunately, no. you can adapt an IDE drive with a scsi host, but not the other way around. if you could score a scsi controller, you could install that and use the drive, though.

Maybe I'll just sell the SCSI drive on Ebay unless someone in LJ land wants it.

There are USB->SCSI adapters, but really not worth the money to use a 36Gb Hd...they usually run $50-80.

Yeah and this thing was free. I think I'll just try to unload it on Ebay.
