Under the knife...er tube

At 2 pm Central time I'm having a procedure done. Upper Endoscopy with an Esophageal Dilitation. Sound like fun? Good drugs anyway. I should be back at work tomorrow.

Peace,

Wander

"A procedure" sounds so much nicer than "the doctor's going to shove tubes down my throat".

And guess what, I "woke up" during the procedure and realized there were tubes down my throat and reached up to try and take them out. Luckily "someone" grabbed my hands and shot me full of more sedative.

I've had it done before, 2 years ago. This time was a lot more painful.

I've had that same procedure and no soreness afterwards. It's 3pm now so your procedure should be about over with.

I said a prayer for you.

Thanks. I had it done 2 years ago with no pain. This time there was some definite pain afterwards. But much better today than yesterday. Thanks for the prayers.

Yup, I inherited this from Dad. I guess that means I've got Type 2 Diabetes to look forward to as well. 2 years ago when I first had this done it was painless. This time there was some definite pain after the drugs wore off. Bettertoday than yesterday though.

Thanks! I'm better today than yesterday when I had a lot of pain. Hopefully tomorrow will be back to real food and comfortable swallowing again.

Glad to see you are ok. Sorry you are having pain, I hope the drugs help. And I really hope you don't get type 2. I have it... it sucks.

Re: Ewwwww
This is the second time for me. I don't remember being this sore the first time. I've got to really watch what I eat. Certain things hurt to eat them so I don't think I'll be drinking beer or wine anytime soon. But the pain seems to be less and less each day. So that's a plus. At least I can swallow again.
