One More Day

It's coming down to the wire now. Monday is the last day this office will be in existence, at least for the vast majority of us. We had are last party last night and it was a big blow out. The beer and wine flowed freely. The company paid for one of my recent photos to be given to every employee. We will take a group photo on Monday that will be sent to everyone after we leave. This is a lot like graduating from High school or college and everyone going their separate ways. Lots of new adventures but a little scary and very bittersweet as well. Lots of tears last night as I'm sure there will be on Monday. I'm bringing my truck on Monday to help people move bookcases and such to their houses. Yeah, a lot like graduating from college.

I heard from the office in Dubuque yesterday. Nothing open for me right now but a possibility of something first of the year and they asked if I'd like to freelance. So I may have to go to Burr Ridge or Columbus first and work my way back this way. But I've got some time to think about it.

I'm a little dissapointed in some of my fellow co-workers who for the past few weeks have pretty much just given up on everything. Right now I'm doing photo credits for a book I was not even the lead editor on. Why? Because the person who's job it is, pretty much just gave up on it. It's called integrity folks. You start something, you see it to completion no matter what. I'm employed until they kick my ass out on Monday. Even then, I told them I'd help them out for the remainder of next week to get the photo credits done.

Peace,

Wander

That sucks. Sounds like you have your head on straight over the situation though.

I'm glad you have some freelancing to do. It's nice that you will be helping people move their book cases home, especially people who don't have a truck or women.

You are in my prayers to find a job quickly.

I'm in my own prayers to find a job quickly. I don't want to get used to not working.
