Beautiful! Thanks for sharing.

I wish I were there right now (in a heavy coat and ski pants)

Very heavy coat. It's brutal outside.

You got the snow, I got the ice and still have the winds which will die down late afternoon. Tonight we are supposed to be 5 degrees. It was just on the weather.

I'm going to post more of the damage photos to my trees. I guess the roof is damaged too as they are telling people if the trees laying on your roof have only little twigs for branches that the weight of the ice is tremendous.
My front and back of the attached garage is covered by several trees. They are telling people to get out there with a chain saw and carefully cut them down. Not in ice and definitely on a ladder on ice.

It's starting to melt up here with the sun shining on it but it will all freeze again soon as the sun goes down. Travelling first thing in the morning ought to be an adventure.

Bring your snowshoes and long underwear if you come in the winter. Otherwise it's a wonderful palce to live.

You can have the snow if you want it. Really you can. It's a bitch to have around. It's got a few inches of ice underneath it. I got my F150 stuck in the barnyard a while ago. I was in granny low 4wd mode at the time.

I love the birds! Other than being away from John for so long, the thing I'm most annoyed with from being at the Academy for three weeks is that I have had very few opportunities to take outdoor photos. We've had a lot of snow the past couple of weeks and I have photographed almost none of it! Gah! Of course, it's snowing again now, so maybe I'll get some time on the weekend. :)

Of course, I'm finally acclimated to Montana, as I was walking around outside this week at ten below with no coat on and it wasn't too bad. Felt like about 30 degrees to me.

What I really want to do is research some night photography. I am guessing I could get some interesting photos what with all the light reflecting off the snow.

Yeah after about 20 degrees the colder it gets doesn't seem to register like it does when you go up from there. Night photography is fun. Long exposures have great results.
