iPod Assitance

Anyone know if there is a way to download songs back off your iPod if they are not already on your computer?

Do you mean, the songs are on the iPod and not on the machine?

Hunh, I thought it automatically did that when it synced.

Seems like, though, if you switch to manually manage it in itunes, you could copy the songs back to iTunes. See here.

Love the tongue out in the icon. You do that to tease me right? When the iPod syncs, it goes from computer to iPod. I was wanting to take songs off the iPod and put them on a computer which I found out is possible, just not the way I was wanting to do it.

Yes. I have a program at home I use.
I will find that site tonight and send it to you. Best part is that its FREE!

I will say that if you don't mind searching through your music, all you have to do is "show hidden files" and you can see the folders in your ipod. However, nothing is organized.

I think I found the free program you use and it worked for me too. Thanks!

I asked the guys at the apple store this question and they said no.

I found out it can be done on a PC with a bit of freeware but it's not that easy.

If you're running a Mac, Senuti (http://www.fadingred.org/senuti/) can help.
