Heath Ledger Dead

This really makes me sad because he had such potential. I'm going to be seriously disappointed if they confirm it's a drug overdose. Don't people ever learn?

Sad day.

I don't want to speculate as well as it had just happened. But hearing that there were pills all around him when he was found isn't a very good sign. I really feel badly for his very young daughter.

... and so proves my own point about premature speculation! :P

Yep. She will only get to know her father through his films and then to have his accidental death always hanging there would be a very sad thing.

TMZ reporting he had pneumonia, there were false reports of how he was found, doesn't look like suicide or OD after all...'

I hate that he's dead but it would be much better if it was found to be of natural causes. They are doing an autopsy tomorrow so I guess we will all know soon enough.

I was shocked too. 28 years old :/ What a waste if it was drugs.

It's looking more like it wasn't but we should all know soon enough. Still very sad for someone with such potential to die so young.

My step-daughter's husband died of pneumonia a few years back. He was 30, and oddly enough separated from her too. He would not go see a doctor. Could have been hospitalised and lived. Of her two sons one is pretty freaked out about death and is always so serious about everything. People dying in their prime really offends the imagination most of all, especially if someone is really reaching for what they are capable of doing in life.
People close to him are going to need some special or extra help over years to deal with it.

People don't think anymore about the number of people who die each year from pneumonia. I got it 3 times when I lived in Colorado, mostly because I didn't have insurance and wouldn't go see a doctor when I would first develop a respiratory infection. And that was when I was in my 20's and 30's. I have a lasting case of asthma to remind me of that bit of stupidity. Yes, I agree, people who die so young are really heartbreaking. When they die from something they could have prevented, it really makes me sad and angry.

Me too. I was going to school in Alamosa, CO when the last Raiders of the Lost Ark movie was being filmed. They filmed the train scenes and opening scenes nearby and many of my fellow students were extras on the film. I got to meet River Phoenix briefly. I had the same feeling of loss and emptiness when he left us that I did when I heard about Heath.
