And the votes are all in

Thank you to everyone who voted in my photo polls. I also opened it up to my friends of Facebook which turned out good because they broke a few ties. So here's how it turned out. The following will be entered into the National Juried competition in August:

Pool Shark
The Cowboy
Laziness
Baldy Cabin
Purple Rain - the top vote-getter
Southpark Sunrise - the second highest vote-getter

The following 3 will be entered into a regional Amateur Art Show at the same Gallery in May:

Yaquina Bay Twilight
House on the Hill
Sunset Barn

The following 9 will be sent to the walls of the Gallery at the August Hill Winery in Uttica, IL.

Divine Light
Dark Gold
The Sunset Strip
Lone Resident
Single Family Home
Bronze Beach
The Olde Mill
Almost Gone
Red, White and Blue

Many people have asked about prints. Normally I put all my work up at Imagekind but they are a little expensive just for a print. So if you want a print of anything I've shown, I'll charge $3.50 for a 5 x 7 and $5.00 for an 8 X 10 and this will include shipping charges. Just let me know.

Peace,

Wander

mats?
How do you mat your photographs for sale? Do you leave a border around the photo so you can sign at the bottom, or do you mat all the way to the edge (and if so, where do you sign?)

I'm putting some photos into a show soon, and while I know some galleries and juried art contests have their own matting rules, I'm just putting these out there for sale (and not all of them will look nice with the standard plain white, white-core mats).

Re: mats?
I always learned to matte up to the photo and sign on the very edge of the top most matte. All the photos I've seen recently in galleries employ that technique. I always learned to put more matte on the bottom of the image than on the top. Like 2.5 on top and 3.5 on the bottom and then even on the sides. Its subtle and I think if you do that, it meets the standards of most galleries.

Re: mats?
Thank you! At the last museum auction I went to, they had 4 photos that were done 4 different ways, so I've been very confused! I understand it's become kind of the photographer's call, but I want to do whatever looks the nicest!

Re: mats?
Photographer's call so long as the venue accepts their treatment of the images. Considering how much mats cost I'd rather be safe than sorry.

I'm thinking not since neither of us seem to know. Want to add me? Tons of my photos are posted on there.

Sorry... I meant to vote but completely forgot all about it. But the ones that made the list would have been my choices. Great selection!
