Preparation is on for the 14th Annual Wander's Farm Post 4th of July Fish Fry and Firework's Extravaganza.

The party is Saturday, July 11th. Rob, Toni and I were at the bar one night and well into our cups when that date just came to us and so we've stuck with it.

So if you'd like to come for the party, you are quite welcome. As always, I have a 4 bedroom house and bedspace is available on a first come first served basis and of course we have room for people to set up tents and camp if that is your thing.

It's BYOB although if you are not of legal drinking age, I'd rather you not drink as several of us have Federal and State explosives handling permits that might be in jeopardy if we got a citation for underage drinking or contributing. Expect to surrender your keys if I think you've had too much to drink. No drugs will be tolerated. I might be able to get away with some alcohol-related offense but there may be at least the County Sheriff present and I'm sure he would not look favorably on any drug use.

There are a couple other lodging options available within a short drive if I should have that many people want to show up.

Kids are welcome as are other family members. Just don't expect anyone to provide you with a babysitting service. Other kids of various ages will be present as will people's parents and etc.

Rob, Robbie, Kenny and I have been fishing sporadically and plan to have a good supply of catfish, bluegill and largemouth bass to fry up. In addition there will be fries, potato salad, sliced tomatoes and all the other fixins you'd expect from a Midwestern picnic. I think we may actually cook a side of pork this year as well.

The party should start around 4 and the fireworks will be shot around dark. Afterwards we usually have a bonfire and sit around passing a bottle and telling embarrassing stories on each other. We are picking up about $2000 worth of fireworks in the near future.

If you plan to attend, just let me know and we can discuss lodging needs. I'm not set up for a bunch of people to arrive prior to Friday night because I live so far away now. But we can always work something out.

Peace,

Wander

I'm pretty sure we will.

Can we barter one of your rooms if we bring food?

No need to barter. I'll just hold a room for you.

Ok. We thought it might be fun to make biscuits and gravy for breakfast or something.

I generally feed everyone that's left over on Sunday morning. French toast and bacony goodness. There will be more than enough food on Saturday.

Rats. There's that damn distance thing again, rearing it's ugly head. :(

Yeah, I know. I'll just have to drive up next time I'm on the good coast.

We do like our Pyro. My neighbors (1/4 mile away) sit out on their lawns and watch the show which is often bigger than the local towns' 4th of July shows.
