Winner Winner Chicken Dinner!

Dubuque365 which is the local entertainment news magazine and online site for cultural events has featured a photo of mine as the Photo of the Day for the second time in as many months.

Check it out!

And to top it all off they asked me to be a photographer for bigger events for them. So for my first event, I get to cover the America concert at the Diamond Jo Casino here in town and get back stage passes and the works.

This is so freaking cool.

Add to that I have an artist reception for a gallery featuring my work tonight. I am one of 4 featured artists (the only photographer) in a show that will run all Winter at the August Hill Winery in Utica, IL. They received 15 of my framed photos last week and one sold right out of the box to the owner's wife. I'm so stoked about all of this. Here are the photos I put in the show.

Peace,

Wander

Congratulations on your job and the art show!

What is the first photo? I don't recall you ever posting that.

That's a great shot of the offering baskets in the church; great lighting.

But my love is the rural ruin house and granny milking the cow ... granny really took me back to my childhood.

Will you be posting more rural ruin photos? I really miss them.

Take care, W.

The first one is in the ghost town of Elizabethtown, NM. The old Lutz hotel. I shot that in 2006 I think. Yes I will be posting more rural ruins. I've not shot as many this fall and winter because of moving but I did get a drive-in in TN recently and some old IL farmhouses. Thanks!

The first one in Elizabethtown, NM. The third one which I shot in KS is the one that sold though I had a gaggle of women fawning over the one of the flowers last night so I think that one will sell soon too. Thanks!

Dang it, I can't see the photo of the day here or from the Facebook link -- there's no archive, is there? And I don't know if many of the LiveJournal folks are also Facebook folks, but I thought it was cool how you posted that set of the stories that go with each photograph.

Ooo I hadn't seen that one of the sunlight in the mountain valley before! That's beautiful! And of course, my favorite is still the abandoned house!

Good luck! :)
