Esophageal Dilation

I'm having another of these today. 3rd one since 2003. I've finally found a gastroenterologist who is concerned enough to look for a reason why I keep building up so much scar tissue and is willing to look at more permanent solutions. They have me on a dissolvable for of Prevacid right now and that is helping. At least I can feel the reflux when it occurs. So I'll be goofy as hell later today after recovery. I've been known to give all sorts of goofy answers to questions after being on anesthesia.

Peace,

Wander

For a while I was having all kinds of problems with reflux, and now it's a rare occurrence. I hope you get it sorted out soon.

I don't like snake breakfasts. They burn the bacon.

Apparently, there is a type of bacteria that causes an otherwise benign infection of the stomach, which causes huge acid production. At least three friends of mine have had it recently, and I'm wondering if there's something in the food, in the air, or in the water.

At any rate, feel better. That is the second least pleasant procedure I've ever heard of.

Particularly when you are awake and aware for part of it.

Esophagus
I was curious if you have had any more answers to a more permanent solution to your esophagus. I have had so many dialations that I can't even remember how many I am at now. I had my first one done when I was in High School in the 1980s. 5 years ago, I actually had the worst experience when the tore a hole in my esophagus and I almost died. I thought I was doing fine and the emergency repair they did may have solved the problem. Now, I am having difficultly again. I am nervous about having it dialated again and want to solve this problem for good. I did a 2 year program where we tried to kill the bacteria. It actually made it where I could eat more than just plain rice and chicken. I would love to hear what you have found out and where you are going for treatment.
