I've got five photos to find and I'll finaly be done with this project. I won't know how to feel when I'm fnished since I've been on this for two years now. But I know it will be a weight off my shoulders. Problem is there will be no break. More projects await. Though my supervisor says she'll at least give me time to clean up from this one and the last one before giving me another. Then there will be Press OK's and trying to fit a 9 day vacation in there somewhere. Then the folks will show up again and it will be time for Fall Pow Wows and Festivals to sell jewelry. My life never seems to get easier. Good thing I deal with stress well.

Tonight i'll be down at the farm. It's a Full Moon and I've gotten lots of signs lately of shamanic death and rebirth to come so maybe something will happen in journey tonight.

At the advice of carocrow I applied for the introductory class from the Foundation for Shamanic Studies. I got my invitation over the weekend. They sent it to Mary StoneBear Dierker instead of Mark but at least they spelled the Dierker part right when no one else does so I guess I should be thankful. Now if I can scrape together $190, I'll have a weekend of structured exploration near the end of September in Des Moines, Iowa. I'll probably find somewhere I can camp for the weekend to save on expenses. Plus, it's easier to just relax while camping than staying in a hotel room. They are offering home stays with some folks in the area who have also taken classes and that might be fun as well. Benefitting from the experiences of others and just meeting new people. Well that's 2 months away so I have some time to plan.

Not much else happening. I suppose I should try and track down those last five photos and get this over with.

Ignore my ignorance.
Ok silly question here, wouldn't a structured format of Shamanism kinda go against the norm of Shamanism. I always thought it was a very non-rigid religion with very little structured format. Course as a heathen Christian I don't know so shed some light on me bro.

Re: Ignore my ignorance.
Less of a structure for the religion if you can call it that and more a study in various methods used for journey work and vison quest and that sort of thing. They focus on the various methods several shamanic cultures have used to make the break from one reality to the next. They also look at various ways the shaman has used to work with energy. Of course each shaman adapts these ways to their own uses. But from what I've seen in talking to others, is the methods we use to leave this world and enter the next are very similar. I think this course will really focus on the comonalities of those methods. It's a workshop more than a calss so I'm sure there will be a lot of round table type discussions.

From the invitation - " Practice includes comparisons by participants of their shamanic journeys as well as being introduced to shamanic divination and healing. They are also provided with methods for journeying to discover and study with their own individual spiritual teachers in non-ordianry reality..."

Sounds like i might pick up a few tips.
