Just not a whole lot of progress

Well this day was essentially a bust. Deb called right after I got to work to tell me the melting snow on the roof was causing a leak. What really pisses me off was we had the roof fixed last Spring. Good thing I don't own the house or I'd be taking a contractor's head off right now. So at lunch I climbed up on the roof with a street broom and got all the 14 inches of drifted snow off the roof. Found two breaks in the flashing of the valley that may have been made by falling limbs in one of our wind storms. Water was just running in. 50 degrees by lunch time after two days of snow will tend to make things melt fast. So after I got the snow cleared off and the roof started to dry, the leak stopped so maybe we can at least move the entertainment center back where it was tonight.

Yesterday, I came back early hoping Deb and I could catch Harry Potter at the dollar theater before we missed it altogether. Well we got there and it seems the whole theater staff was sick so they were not opening which also pissed me off. Least they could have done was leave a message on their showtimes phone update.

So we rented some DVDs, one of which gave us a "Wrong Region" message. Hmm never saw that one before. Deb hit the sac early but I decided to stay up and make a pan of Capirotoda and some fresh salsa and chips which I brought to work today. I warmed up the Capirotoda before I came in. People at work love when I bake. The Capirotoda was all gone by noon and now I'm basically licking the pan. getting the last gooey traces.

Time to go home now and see what damage the leaky roof caused and see if we can go to the movie tonight instead. here's hoping with fingers crossed.

My parents were having leaky roof problems recently too, and also had it reroofed a year or two ago. Their problem was aparently condensation from bathroom vents/too much humidity, which would form icicles and then melt and drip down. They added some attic insulation and the guy fixed the vent.
What's Capirotoda?

Capirotoda is a very sweet and rich Mexican bread pudding. Pretty easy to make actually. Lots of brown sugar, raisins, walnuts, toasted french bread, cheddar cheese, cinamon, cloves and anise. Tastes wonderful.

Ugh. Sorry you're having such probs with the roof; this spring is going to be a roofer's delight, so many people in our area have had their roof lift from the ice.

Yeah we've had constant cool downs and slight warming trends all winter so doubtless that has something to do with this as well. The landlord replaced part of it last Spring when it started to leak. Looks like he's going to have to do more now.

First I've encountered the new logo. Most excellent.

I have some Illustrator questions I'll pose later.

Thanks, pose away. I've been working on an Illustrator problem all day.
