well isn't this fun?

I'm on call tonight here at work until 10:30 so I'm really sitting here with nothing to do. There are a couple people who have called me who I want to call back but I know as soon as I do, my boss will call and want something done. So I'm working on castles designs and descriptions and some other neat things I thought to do on the way in this morning.

This morning we had the annual Goose family migration. 3 Adult Canada gesse lead their four downy goslings down to the local lake to teach them how to swim. Every year, the same little parade past our office in the morning and back again in the afternoon. They croos the busy road in front of our office at some point but they always wait until cars ahve stopped and then go over. It's so fun to watch. I got some good photos this year. I'll post them in a week or so.

I was semi successfull in weaning myself from the Internet last night. It was lonely at the farm knowing I could just hop online and have someone ther to talk to but Iresisted the tmeptation. I did check email and answer a couple LJ comments and moved my vampire around. But then I got offline by 11:30 and actually got better than 6 hours of sleep. One day down...well two with today. hopefully I'm on my way to breaking the cycle.

devilmiyu has been posting recipes she's made with my Tropical Terror Salsa, so we've decided to make a cookbook. She's going to write the forward, Deb will edit and I will photograph which means I have to get Anna out here at some point to make the recipes so I can photograph them. Lots of fun.

By popular request, I'm going to start offering both a Hot and Mild version of Tropical Terror as well as hot and mild versions of both a red and green chilli salsa I make. I think I'll put up and E-commerce site and see what becomes of it all. Thanks to everyone who has tried it and told others about it. If you have recipes for what you like to do with it (not that kind of stuff your pervert) send them to me and I'll include them in the cookbook with a credit to you.

No fair! You get to see Make Way for Goslings outside your office window while all I get are squirrels trying to sneak towards my tomatoes.

What does "mild salsa" mean to you? I'm interested in your devilish concoction but the reports of its heat frankly scare me. I'm the type who has to put salsa in sour cream to be able to eat it.

The Hot as it stands now has 4 cups of hot peppers in 12 pints of salsa. Plus 30 habaneros. The mild would have like 10 hababaneros.

Still scared of your salsa.

It's not that bad if you pour it over cream cheese and eat it with wheat thins. Cuts the heat substantially.

This is what I've been thinking. I'm very intrigued by the Tropical Terror, yet I'm not too good with heat.

However, I did try the "medium" salsa in the store a few weeks ago, and found it likeable. I'm getting braver.

Wander, I'd love to ask for some of your salsa, but I'd also really like to send you something in return -- is there anything you've been needing from over this way?

Can you send the beach? No need to pay for the first jar. Sort of like free advertising if you shar it with other people. I'm cool with that. I'll need an address. oh and I got you half a pound of sea salt I'll send too.

Hmmm Squirrels sneaking toward your tomatoes sounds like a veiled reference to something. I'm not sure what but something.

A condo in Gutterville? I know the guy who OWNS Gutterville!

Tell Jeff his rent on that condo is late.

How's this for advertising?
Let me just say, for the record, to anyone reading your post that your salsa is the most versatile salsa I've ever had the pleasure of consuming.

I kind of find it hard to call it a "salsa". And it's not just a condiment. It's more like, for lack of a better phrase, Food Enhancer.

How so?

1. It goes well as a dipping sauce all by itself.
2. It's great as a marinade/barbeque sauce all by itself.
3. Drinks containing your salsa tastes awesome!
4. Can come up with a few dessert dishes that uses your salsa as a main ingredient.
5. It goes well with vegetable dishes, beef dishes, fish/shellfish, pork, chicken, and fruit.
6. It's allergy season, and I've been eating it as is to clear my sinuses...need I say more?

Re: How's this for advertising?
Damn that's good. Can I hire you? You can work directly beneath me.

Re: How's this for advertising?
Directly beneath you, huh?
That just screams 'sexual innuendo' and then some.

That's grounds for spanking Mark! Oh, but you'd like that now, wouldn't you? Well then I'll just spank Deb's bum and pinch it till it's bruised. On second thought, scratch that one out as well...coz you'd like that too.

I can't win.
I give up.
I quit.

Yeah, it's better to just give up and give in.
