Fascist Bastards

I will never stay at the Hilton O'Hare Airport Chicago. Not only do I dislike Hilton Hotels anyway but last week when Deb got marooned in Chicago because of being bumped from her flight and her wallet and carry on being stolen, she was put up at the Hilton. Now while this sounds nice on the surface, the results are not so nice. I checked my credit card today and there are two separate charges on the 7th and 12th from the Hilton. One is for $98 and change and the other is for $85 and change. I just talked to their accounting department and was told what the charges were for. Needless to say It was not a pleasant conversation. Deb opened the mini-bar and took out a Diet Coke and a bathroom kit since all her carry on had been stolen as well. Total price $10. Then she made phone calls to all her credit card companies to cancel cards. All these she put on a calling card I gave her.

So I'm on the phone with accounting and they tell me the $85 charge is for the mini bar and the $98 is for phone calls. I raise my voice a little at this last one and she tells me the hotel charges you for each minute you have the line open regardless of who you charge the call to! Now is that a line of shit or what? You put charges on your phone card to avoid charging it to the room and they still fuck you up the ass for just being on the phone.

So Deb's FREE hotel night actually cost her/me over $180. Accounting said in good faith they would reduce that by 50%. I wasn't too friendly about it still. I truly felt like asking her if I should thank her for only charging me half to fuck me up the ass.

So the airline is paying them for a room and they are going to take every advantage of the customer to get the last nickel they have. No wonder the Hilton family is so well off.

What fucktards. Write a letter to the manager and explain why they and all their associated chains have just been removed from consideration for your list of potential business-trip lodgings. They OUGHT to reverse all those charges and offer you more free nights. Although I can understand why you'd hesitate to use them.

I'm going to do just that. They just refunded me half of the mini bar bill but still they charged $42.90 for a Diet Coke and a bathroom package that had toothpaste, soap and a toothbrush. Now I've paid some exorbitant room service fees before but thats just ridiculous.

I had something like this happen with another Hotel chain. The Four Points Sheridan. They charged me double and treated me like I was non-existent. I bumped their charge from my credit card by filing a fraud charge with my bank. Got my money back too.

As for phone calls, when I had a calling card no hotel I've ever stayed at has charged me a thing for calls. The Hilton sounds like they'll never get my business. Nor any of my friends. Some of whom put together these huge festivities too.

Fuck them.

Great idea. Makes mental note to call the credit card company in the morning.

Oh they will pay, one way or another.

Are they trying to get you to pay for Paris Hilton's new shoes or something? That's just unreasonably wrong.

Yep it's wrong and I'm doing something about it too.
