Well I had a root canal done this morning. I swear, whatever synthetic crap they use in place of novacaine these days just kicks my ass. It's all worn off now and I'm full of Tylenol ( I try not to take anything stronger). I went home and slept for a couple hours afterward and then came into work. Now I feel like I'm recovering from an IV anaesthetic. I just have no energy whatsoever. He gave me a scrip for Vicodin which I filled but I won't ever take. There would have been a time when I would have saved them for migraines but I've developed a non-drug strategy for dealing with migraines that is effective for me. Nope, the Vicodin will sit on the shelf waiting for someone else who needs them. Every once in awhile the tooth gives me a good throb to remind me what pain is all about. Otehr than that, the Tylenol is taking care of it. Looking forward to a dinner of soup and mashed potatoes tonight as I have no desire to try and chew on that tooth.

Satruday I thought I was going to have a confrontation with deer hunters illegally hunting my land. I locked them in and at dusk went out to see who they were. Had my 20 gauge on the front seat just in case but it turned out to be Deb's cousin and uncle who had failed to call me and tell me they were going to be there. That's one of the things I require of the hunters on my land. I told them they had come very close to having the sheriff greet them at my gate if they had not come out when they did. Needless to say, they will remember to call next time.

Hmm.. remember last year I had that root canal? it was around the 4th of July or so. I remember I was talking to you via IM the one night and my face started swelling up. It was right before I was due to have the surgery on my neck.

Well my point is, I guess I was just lucky. I had no pain whatsoever with the root canal. Never felt it, and never had a problem since (knock on wood know that I've said that).

Sorry you are in pain though. I can relate because before the root canal, I couldn't even barely talk. It HURT!

I'm fine today. Not even sore. I did some reading and the synthetic novacains they use have a variety of reactions. I'll have to ask the Endontist what they use and avoid that in the future.

As long as nothing fell off and everything is intact, I guess you'll be ok. (snicker)

That first paragraph gave me a saline flashback. Thank you.

I hate drug reactions. It would be nice if they gave you warning of possible side effects before they did that. Still today I'm a little light headed.

Most offices use epinephrine in some variety. We had polocaine, septocaine, and some other stuff. It's all got different names.
You've pretty much gone through surgery, so it's no surprise you're worn out.
I hope you're feeling better soon!

No pain or soreness today except where they pricked my hard palate with the anaesthesia on the inside. I'm still a little light headed. But I suppose that could just as easily be the reaction from the penicyllin. I need a massage to put me right.
