Action Taken

Well the Kirby folks are pretty quick about responding. This was in my inbox first thing this morning:

We appreciate receiving your email.

The Kirby Company expects the independently owned and operated
distributorships, along with the dealers, to conduct themselves in a
professional and ethical manner, and at all times treating the customer
with respect.

We apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused you. We have
forwarded your comments to Factory Distributor, XXXXXXXX, in
Peoria, IL, Tel: XXXXXXXXXX, and have asked that independent office to
contact you to discuss the situation.

We will also follow up with that independent distributorship to insure
you receive a response.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact us again, either by
email or by calling at XXXXXXXXXX.

Well, I hope they actually do follow up on this so that you don't have to!
Unwanted attention from a delivery person is uncomfortable and annoying, not to mention unprofessional.
