$

Hey, I only owe just over $10,000 on credit cards now. I paid off a Visa and a Mastercard this year. Last week, I paid off a final tuition bill I had lingering from my graduate degree. Yesterday I paid off Victoria's Secret. Yes, I had a huge bill with VS.

So now let's see if my credit union will give me a car loan for $7,000.

wish me luck. I really want that 99 Jetta I have my eye on.

Good stuff, man. It's always a rewarding feeling to be able to make good headway on old debts.

Ick. I hate debts. I am glad I paid off my student loans but now I just have about $5000 left on the bike. And I'm putting as much as I can into eliminating that one ASAP.

Best of luck with the loan, but I'm sure you'll get it!

Feeling the pain
I feel for you, my dear. My college payments start this month. Ugh.

Re: Feeling the pain
It's always something you owe on. Wish I could go back to the days of few bills and few responsibilities but then I'd have to give up all my good stuff.

Congrats!

Between the home mortagage, the car, the medical expenses, the store improvements and shop inventory I now have about a quarter million in debt. I'm happy if I can make the payments.

Well at least I know someone who is worse off than me...Kidding.

Seriously though. The prospect of Long term debt is why I've not ever bought a house or made a huge investment in my businesses. Financially I'm finally just recovering from the divorce 12 years ago and I like the feeling of being able to make it from one paycheck to the next without having to eat Ramen for a week.

Congratulations on paying off those debts. I should know, that't tough to do.
I'll wish you luck on the loan if you wish me luck. I need a loan for $4000 for a car myself.

Good Luck to you too! Never say never. Those banks are still giving out loans....this month anyway. I like how everyone is predicting that the economy is going to slow down. Not so coincidentally.....that always MAKES it slow down because they make people nervous!
But, so far so good this month.
I say that.
I'm going tomorrow to try to get the loan.
We'll see how I feel then.

For my part, I'm not sure why my credit union wouldn't give me a loan as I've paid back eveery penny of every loan I've ever had from them and most before the due date. Still, my credit record is not the best which makes me a little nervous.
