Bwahahahahahahahahah

Lightning outside. I've been waiting for this since early summer. Now I can collect some water to cleanse stones with. Wanders loves male rain.

Nope not really. I was told there was nothing of the sort up here, but I have heard a few claps of thunder. Nothing at all that I'd pass off as a thunderstorm, though it spooks those that grew up here a bit.

Long gentle rains are female. Short harsh storms that produce little but celestial fireworks are male rains. I need to gather the water during male rains to really energize my stones when I cleanse them.

The lightning water is good healing stuff too.

Why you gotta be sexist with your precipitation?

Not me so much. It's a Navajo tradition. Femal rains are the long slow soaking kind. Male rains are the short, violent kind that mostly produce lighting and thunder. But the water collected from male rains energizes my stones much more than the female rains. Each has their own purposes though.

So how is a hurricane classified? Is it a hermaphrodite? "Honey, we got she-male rain!"

I'd say they were kinda butch. Of course in the region the names came from you don't get hurricanes.

I didn't write these, but I think this describes it. And the male rain reminds me of you W.

male rain

He comes
riding on the wind
kicking up dust
bending the trees
blowing flakes of rain
He flees past my window
to a distant rumble

In-laws beware of him
who mocks the braves
as his features are majestic illusions
his knife the cutting cold
and his soul a drifter.

Female Rain

she pregnant with rain
comes
quite
softly
and gently
in the night

At dawn she gives birth
to little droplets of rain
and for days on end

Awakening
male rain has come and gone
female rain is fading in the distance
father sun is here
and mother earth is awakening
