Remember when I said...

I was going to be sent to Virginia? Apparently that was all wrong and I'm getting sent to Jewet, Ohio. In the middle of freaking nowhere. The upside of all this is I get to stay in a nice B and B for a week, rent a new Mustang to drive and eat meals out on someone else's dime. Such a glamorous job I have. Another good thing is the county Jewet is in was founded in 1805 by by ancestors and now I might get to solve a mystery as to who my great, great, great, great grandmother actually was. Plus photograph some of the final resting places for ancestors I've not had a chance to look into. I should be going the first or second week of November.

Sounds like a decent trip anyway.
Sorry you aren't coming this way, though!

I'll get out that way at some point. I don't know how much time I have on this trip. If it's over a weekend, I still may swing by.

I'm a Senior Image Editor for a Really, Really huge educational publishing company. Probably most of the books you had in junior high and high school were done by us.

I hire artists and photographers, browse through thousands of stock photos, do quite a bit of photogrpahy and illustration myself, arrange photo shoots with models and products, manage the shoots, work with animation. Plus I get to travel to exotic locations like Versailles Kentucky, Jefferson City, Missouria and Willard, Ohio. Things like that.

I could so that... well all but maybe some of the illistrations. I suck at drawing. I was a pro photographer for a few years. Did model bookings. Traveled all over california doing it. I am pretty good with layouts and photoshop too.. I might have to learn some animation stuff though... so when do I start ;)

Yeah it sucks to have to work all the time but 4 weeks paid vacation and 9 paid holidays is a definite plus.

I've got just a couple graves to find and one woman to figure out who she was and I'll have my Dad's whole family since they came here from Switzerland in 1709.

This trip will be key to that research. My mom has her family going back to Ireland in the early 1800's.

Sounds nice. ...I've relatives in Kimbolton and Coshocton, neither of which are far from Jewett. And Millersburg is pretty close, too. It's become a bit touristy, but the Amish community there is still going strong, and if you know - or can quickly figure out - where to look, you can get some wonderful handmade products.

I was told about the Amish as well and plan to do some looking around. My ancestors are mostly from the Freeport part of the county but some were married in Coshocton. They were all Quaker at the time.
