More Vietnam Pics

Since some of you were interested. More pics of my cousin in VietNam and a couple in San Diego before he left. He was killed April 16, 1968 near Khe Sanh. I think the Siege of Khe Sanh officially ended on April 8. My folks have several letters he wrote home. When I'm there for Christmas, I'm going to scan them and post them to a website along with his photos.

Gary and friends at dusk. Notice the lone scraggly tree.

No I've never seen it but why would you ask me a question like this in respose to a journal entry about photos of my cousin who died in Vietnam? You could have just emailed me. The address is in my user info. And why go anonymous?

Wow your cousin looks so young. do you have any idea what the average age was for the boys that went to Nam?

Can you tell your Aunt and Uncle? Thanks for having their son and your cousin fight for me. I was a little kid during Nam and I have tried to thank all the families who lost ones and veterens I met .. Thank you.

My Aunt and Uncle both died in the last five years which is how I came to have his photos. But I'll tell my Dad who was there whe he died. A lot of them were pretty young. My Dad was 27 when he first went but then he had enlisted back in 56. 1 Day out of High School. I think Gary was 19 or 20. Before the war got so unpopular, there were boys who lied about being 18 to get in. There were lots of 18 year olds drafted. I'm not sure what the average age would have been.
