Stolen from a couple people

The problem with LJ is we all think we are so close, but really we know nothing about each other. So I want you to ask me something you think you should know about me. Something that should be obvious, but you have no idea about. Ask away.

Then post this in your LJ and find out what people don't know about you.

Go ahead, I'm an open book. Ask anything.

hey dude--

In theory this is a great approach, but in application, there are some people like me in the world who just go ahead and ask questions whenever they want to know they answers... So I don't have anything at this point, but I'll save it for a later date when I do.

But the same goes for you, man. If you ever want to ask me something, I'm all ears and if I've got an answer, you'll have one too.

I think you and I have always been able to ask each other questions. Some people though still try to be "polite" and wait to get to know me before they ask. We're cool.

Golly - I have a lot of questions :)

I've narrowed them down...to two.

1. what is your favorite kind of jewelry to make? settings? beadwork? make your own (fimo et al)
2. what drew you to study an alternative belief system?

The kind that is most therapuetic to me and therefore the most enjoyable is creating new necklace designs from gemstones. People who make things from scratch fascinate me though so one of these days I'm going to learn to make my own glass beads. Then I think I'll come up with some really interesting creations.

A couple things drew me I think. 1) The failure of the Catholic Chruch to take an active role in explain why I should beleive in their veresion of God, just that I should beleive. 2) God actually talking to me in a voice I could understand. 3) The calling I pretty much unwillingly received 20 years ago with my ex-wife. I'll be posting on that very soon and it will be long and graphic. 4) The feeling when I journey that this is the right place and time to be and the right way to be interacting with God.

Err. Actually, this is one of the things I like about LiveJournal...

I know you do. You like keeping to yourself. And that's cool too. It takes all kinds...

More to the point, I find the paradox to be rather pleasing.

I know I don't know everything about you. But that's ok. I know we'll be friends for a long time. So there's plenty of time to discover new things. And I know if I ask, you'll answer.

Same for you you know. I know I'm a pretty private person and sometimes it's difficult for me to just post things. But if you ever wondered about anything about me, all you have to do is ask. I'd answer you.

Almost everything I'd want to ask would be found out in a couple of hours of in-person conversation.

So when are you coming to Seattle?

Also, I think it could be said that many people in our everyday lives think they know everything about us, but really they don't know anything ... ahem.

If all goes well I'll be there the first week of March for a week. We do have a cat who has cancer in it's jaw right now and if we decide on any more extreme measures of keeping him alive than we are doing right now, that may limit my travel funding in which case I'd push back my plans until whenever you folks in college up there are on Spring Break. But early March looks pretty good right now.

Very nice. During a lunar eclipse. ^__^

Well that's a good sign and on my Birthday too. March 6. I'll be 41.

How many kinds of peppers do you grow and are any of them finicky?
Jan. 12th, 2006 09:00 pm (UTC)
Last year I grew jalapenos, habaneros, cayennes, tobascos, thai dragons, hungarian yellow wax, banana peppers, bell peppers, serranos, super chillis, anaheims and poblanos. None of them are really that finicky butthe habaneros are less tolerant of drought then the others so I had to make sure I kept water on them. I put down an 8 inch layer of grass clipping between the rows and between each plant and when I water, that helps keep moisture next to the soil. This year I'm inventing a new watering system.

If it involves a milk jug, I'm way ahead of you.

Nope I'm going with an aerial gravity fed drip system.

Who is your favorite poet?
Jan. 13th, 2006 04:18 pm (UTC)
Jim Morisson. Didn't even have to think about that one much. Second would have to be Robert Frost.
