I picked up $750 worth of fireworks on Saturday. Bwahahahahahaha! This is in preparation of course for the 11th Annual Wander's Farm Fish Fry and Firework's Extravaganza. Notice the words Pre-4th of July are not in there this year. That's because we have a fireworks shoot in Mt. Sterling on the weekend before the 4th of July which is when we usually have the party. So this year, we are moving it to July 8th.

So if you'd like to come for the party, you are quite welcome. as always, I have a 4 bedroom house and bedspace is available on a first come first served basis and of course we have room for people to set up tents and camp if that is your thing.

It's BYOB although if you are not of legal drinking age, I'd rather you not drink as several of us have Federal and State explosives handling permits that might be in jeopardy if we got a ticket for underage drinking or contributing. Expect to surrender your keys if I think you've had too much to drink. No drugs will be tolerated. I might be able to get away with something alcohol related but there may be at least the County Sheriff present and I'm sure he would not look favorably on any drug use.

There are a couple other lodging options available within a short drive if I should have that many people want to show up.

Kids are welcome as are other family members. Just don't expect anyone to provide you with a babysitting service. Other kids of various ages will be present as will people's parents and etc.

Rob, Gwen and I have been fishing every weekend and plan to have a good supply of catfish, bluegill and laremouth bass to fry up. In addition there will be fries, potato salad, sliced tomatoes and all the other fixins you'd expect from a Midwestern picnic.

The party should start around 3 and the fireworks will be shot around dark. Afterwards we usually have a bonfire and sit around passing a bottle and telling embarrassing stories on each other.

If you plan to attend, just let me know and we can discuss lodging needs. My folks will be visiting the next few weeks and will be leaving the morning of the party so I'm not set up for having a bunch of people come prior to Friday but we can work things out.

Y'know, one day I'm actually going to show up for one of your summer shindigs. This will probably be the day the ice caps melt the way my summers go.

Unfortunately you have scheduled said party smack in the middle of my Overseas Adventure.

Drink a Guinness for me. We'll try next year (as I've said for the past...five years now?)

Reminds me of my youth and model rockets....and the DA-KOOOOOOOOM of a 1/2 pound of black powder exploding 500 feet up in the air (I was a rather eclectic teenager....).

I recall time spent in north Dakota of 4th of july where it's legal for 2 weeks to blow up whatever you can afford......and that was quite a bit on the next to last day as there were 'Buy 1, get 8 free' sales....I actually got tired !!!

Remind me to send you a DVD of one of our professional shows. I think you'd like it.
