Last night at the beach

Today I went down to the docks and bought 20 pounds of shrimp. Way more than anyone needs but it was only $1.99 a pound so I went for it. Of course I just finished cleaning it all and putting it in bags to freeze so I can get it back to IL. I drove up north to see Tracy today. She was just as gorgeous as ever. We went to eat Mexican and then hit a local winery, which I have to say was really good. Not as good as Duplin cellars but good. I gave the tour guide some of my Tropical Terror and Cayenne Sauce and he's going to try to get the winery to buy a bunch and sell it there. Then we met a latino couple from Florida and the husband's sister runs a restaurant down there. He liked the Terror as well and is going to see if his sister will sell it in her restaurant gift shop. How cool is that?

Tracy had to go pick up her kids so I got directions to Southern Wayne County High School and went to visit Lucas, aka dragoneerl down there. He's helping out with a JV football team down there. He's not a coach or a trainer, he's a first responder which means he's supposed to run out on the field first if anyone gets hurt. And people did get hurt tonight in a game against Southern Nash County HS. Of course the wiped the field with his team tonight. At half time the score was 38 to 6. They came back in the 4th quarter but much too late to do any good. I think the final score was 48-28. Ouch.

Sorry Ryl and Julian,I won't make it over there this trip. Spread myself too thin this time. So I'll see you around the holidays instead with more Tropical Terror and other sauces.

So tomorrow I make the long trip up to the Piedmont to attend the wedding of the former LJers Dragonfly and Tyrian. It's being held in a castle in High Point. It promises to be quite the shindig. I'll stay with Brent tomorrow night and then head to see Okema Whitehawk on Saturday before heading up to KY. Possibly I'll catch a few other LJers but I definitly want to spend the night with my old and dear friends Dave and Mary Summers in Louisville. Sunday I'll be home again. The back seat is filled to overflowing with good beer and great wine and I'll have a cooler full of fresh shrimp as well. What more could you ask for? I'm going to go stick my toeses in the ocean tomorrow morning before I leave.

Pisces are wont to do that from time to time.

Peace,

Wander

You suck. :P

Prolly for the best, though. I'm going to be busy this weekend with papers and Gnome has to work at Idiot Lube tomorrow.

Don't get washed away by the rip currents.

Hey, it was good to see you again.

You'll be happy to know that the Varsity boys redeemed the Saints' good names this evening with a 29-18 victory over Southern Nash. It was really, really sweet. There was a 30-yard pass caught in the end zone that would have just made you weep with joy during the second quarter. Really, great game.

Anyway, safe travels to you, and thanks again for everything.

Wow $1.99 a pound for shrimp! Can you even see out the back window now?!I'll bet there is frogmore stew in your future and the lucky ones who live close to you.
