Fun things to do on Halloween

Guess what I did last night? Went to a funeral visitation for my cousin Wanda Jean Acheson. The weekend before last, three turkey vultures paid me a visit. They have a couple different medicines about them. One possibility was a message about transformation which is what I was hoping it was. The second possibility was information about the imminent death of a family member. Well, I guess they were there to tell me of Wanda's death. She passed away on Saturday. The funeral was today. I knew I wouldn't make it because of work, so I went to the visitation instead. One thing about old farmer's wives, they know everyone. There were at least 1200 people that came to the visitation, according to the funeral director. And considering the town only has 3,000 people in it, that's a pretty amazing feat. I got there at 7 pm and the line was four abreast out the door of the funeral parlor and into the street. It took me 45 minutes just to make the front door. I stood in line for almost 4 hours, winding my way from room to room inside.

Wanda must have been a loving person and very much loved. I'm sorry for the loss of your friend, but I'm sure such a loved soul is with our Lord.

Not to change the topic, but talking about the turkey vulture reminded me that yesterday I saw a red tailed hawk and I saw one about two weeks ago when the harvest was in full swing. He lifted off from a field. These are the first two I have seen since back last Spring when it was still cold and I only saw 1 then.

Another man in Michigan or Minnesota put out a query similar to what you had written a couple months ago about no red tailed hawks in his area. He was asking about the rest of us, if we'd seen any. I told him I'd only seen the one in Spring and I told him what you wrote.
It seems the hawks disappearance was very widespread.

Stay warm! Peace,
