This is one of those "woo woo" posts as my friend twistedcat would call it so if you are not into discussions of a more metaphysical bent, skip this entry.

chimerae is good at getting the right people together. I don't think either Bonny Paulson or myself had any inkling as to why we should get together. Only that chimerae told us we should. So yesterday I made the hour long journey to Bonny's home in the Blue Ridge Mountains. First off, her home is paradise. I've never really felt the kind of "at peace" feeling that I do in Northern NM anywhere else. But I felt it at Bonny's place. A small valley with a gurgling brook running through the bottom. A vortex nearby. Rocky slopes dotted with hardwoods and pines. She lives in a remodled post and beam house that was once a mill.Three and a half stories tall with a spiral stair going up the center and decks on many levels. A hand laid stone path and steps lead up to the entrance on the second story. Then a deck leads off the back of that story, past dog kennels (she has three huge Scottish Deerhounds and a Weimeraner) and out to a newly built cabin, the rental of which is their main source of income. I didn't take photos as I was pointedly told by the spirits not to.

I'd only talked to Bonny through email so she didn't know how I sounded or what I looked like, where I was from or what kind of car I was driving. But when I pulled down their long gravel driveway, she put her head out the window of her kitchen and shouted, "Hi Mark!" to which I responded with my usual greeting of "Hey!" throwing up my hand. As I came up the stone path, she came out to greet me with a handshake and invited me in. I got to meet all the dogs at once. The largest of the Deerhounds came up to my midsection while standing on all fours. But they all accepted me instantly.

Bonny needed to go check out the cabin which had just been vacated by a bunch of lawyers from DC. Awesome cabin by the way. A master bedroom with king size Postuerpedic matress and down comforter. A separate bedroom with bunkbeds and a loft above. A living room and kitchen area and a good sized deck outside with a grill all over looking the brook.

Afterwards we went back to the house and settled in on the leather bound couches to talk. It was actually hard to concentrate because between her guides and my guides and the spirits just hanging out, there was quite a party going on. Coyote was prancing around and more than once, nipped her on the butt. She Who Dances on the Wind was flying about. Starhawk/Redhawk made an appearance and Bonny's guide was there as well, sitting beside us most of the time. 4 Native Elders from my journeys popped in when I pulled out some items from my medicine box. They all had their wisdom to contribute to the discussions. Things were in and out and flying about all day.

Bonny gifted me with a huge (read head sized) chunk of rose quartz. I think I know right where it will go in my Medicine Wheel back in my woods. I gifted her with a wand of black tourmaline which she seemed to find intriguing.

I have a sense that she gained some understanding from me or at least a different perspective on her own abilities. The experience seemed very positive for both of us. She was able to give me some very good insights. Among these were:

I am being told by my guides and hers not to attempt to travel the whole 900 miles home in one day. Doing so will involve a collision that I will live through but it won't be pretty. I am to go a little more than half way, find a hotel and stop for the night. Get a good night's sleep and finish the trip the next day. I'm heeding the warning and leaving mid morning tomorrow and finishing on Wednesday. I'll stop to see things along the way.

In the near future, I will have a job interview with a man and he will really like my personality. This interview will lead to a career path I'll stick with for the rest of my life. Somewhere down the road, I'll be head of a board of directors. The turning point to my success involves cutting my hair and losing 30 pounds through excersize. These actions may come either as a condition of getting the job or I can hasten the process by just deciding to do it on my own.

During our discussions, I asked her about my lineage. In 1828, my great, great, great grandfather, John Kinsey married a woman in Harrison County, Ohio (near the border of OH and WV/PA). She had the same name as another woman in a neighboring county who married another fellow at about the same time. We have always suspected strongly that John Kinsey actually took an Indian woman as a bride but used the name of this other woman to cover up the fact she was an Indian. She bore him at least 5 children, the only male child being my great, great grandfather John R. Kinsey who eventually migrated to Illinois. Later John Kinsey remarried a German woman named Nancy Councilman Strahan and they moved to Illinois as well.

Bonny went into a medium state and this Indian woman spoke to/through her. He name was something like Sh-na. She was sold to John Kinsey. She was happy she was not sold to a black man. Not because of the way they looked or their skin color but because she ddin't like the way they smelled. she was a very petit little woman. John Kinsey treated her very well. She had many children with him and one of them died, a boy. She didn't live many years with John Kinsey because she got a disease and died. The disease made her cough up a lot of blood and her lungs became full of fluid and she had a fever. She said it was very painful. More painful than childbirth.

Bonny could see the second woman John Kinsey married. Nancy Strahan. Big burly woman. Very strong personality.

If anyone knows what Native groups would have been around Eastern Ohio in the 1820's, let me know. I'd really like to find out more about this Sh-na woman if I can. We've always suspected she might have been Shawnee. But the Kickapoo were around there too as were the Miami and Delaware, Ottawa, Seneca and Wyandot. The fact she was sold to John Kinsey is botehersome. Of course not knowing the customs of the time, maybe it's not so unusual. Perhaps she was a captive that was sold or traded. I don't know. I've always been able to feel her there. And when she was talking through Bonny she felt very familiar. It's nice to be able to solve some mysteries.

She gave me some other insights too. Some of which are a little more personal than I'd like to discuss as they involve other people.

When I finally left yesterday, we had both kind of wound down and it seemed like the right time to go. But I know we will keep in touch now and she'll become part of the ecclectic circle of people I've surrounded myself with to share insights when we need to. I'm still buzzing with all the energy that passed between us in that room yesterday.

Right now I'm headed out the take more ruins photos. I'll be leaving here tomorrow for the return trip home.

Interesting posts. Although I'm Roman Catholic and we believe the saints and angels can pray for us and help to guide us, I also believe that that Native American spirits/guides are pretty much the same.

My best local friend is Cherokee as is her husband and I'm amazed at how much the Native American customs/traditions parallel those of the RC Church.

I'm looking forward to your ruin photos.

Travel safely, my friend. Heed what the spirits/guides tell you. I believe in them.

Thank you for sharing this post with me.

We may all come to Spirit by different pathways but in the end it's the same cat. Everyone does what feels right to them.
