Preparation is on for the 12th Annual Wander's Farm Fish Fry and Firework's Extravaganza. Notice the words Pre-4th of July are not in there again this year. That's because we have a fireworks shoot in Vermont on the weekend before the 4th of July which is when we usually have the party. So this year, we are moving it to July 7th.

So if you'd like to come for the party, you are quite welcome. As always, I have a 4 bedroom house and bedspace is available on a first come first served basis and of course we have room for people to set up tents and camp if that is your thing.

It's BYOB although if you are not of legal drinking age, I'd rather you not drink as several of us have Federal and State explosives handling permits that might be in jeopardy if we got a citation for underage drinking or contributing. Expect to surrender your keys if I think you've had too much to drink. No drugs will be tolerated. I might be able to get away with something alcohol related but there may be at least the County Sheriff present and I'm sure he would not look favorably on any drug use.

There are a couple other lodging options available within a short drive if I should have that many people want to show up.

Kids are welcome as are other family members. Just don't expect anyone to provide you with a babysitting service. Other kids of various ages will be present as will people's parents and etc.

Rob, Gwen, Deb, Kenny and I have been fishing sporadically and plan to have a good supply of catfish, bluegill and laremouth bass to fry up. In addition there will be fries, potato salad, sliced tomatoes and all the other fixins you'd expect from a Midwestern picnic.

The party should start around 3 and the fireworks will be shot around dark. Afterwards we usually have a bonfire and sit around passing a bottle and telling embarrassing stories on each other.

If you plan to attend, just let me know and we can discuss lodging needs. I'm not set up for a bunch of people to arrive prior to Friday night because I live so far away now. But we can always work something out.

Hi Baby...
Post July 4th fireworks sound awsome! Tempting.. truly.
What is the nearest airport so I can at least check out the flights and dream a bit. The entire night actually sounds like a lot of fun.

Love you!

Re: Hi Baby...
Regional airports are Peoria, Springfield, The Quad Cities all of which are easy to get to for me to pick you up. Then St. Louis or O'Hare or Midway in Chicago. Depending on when you might come in, I could pick you up in Chicago as I work only minutes from there. But I also understand you can get some really good deals on flights into the regional airports too.

Awwww Man!!! Always a day late and a lot of dollars short :( Would you believe I'll be there but not till the next day???? I leave Sydney on the 8th and get to LAX on the 8th, three hours before I left. Gotta love that time zone thing! LOL.

Well in any case, be safe and have a blast! I'll be prancing around the tri-state area waiting on my son's visa to be approved (probably till September-ish).

You gonna be in Rushville at some point? We could still get together for a visit or shoot some protraits if you wanted. Or just drink some wine.
