Stone Soup

I posted this recently in my stonebear community but I realize I have friends on my regular journal who may also be interested so here it is.

Stone Soup
chimerae and I have been toying with an idea for about 6 months now. When I was visiting her over the recent holiday, we firmed up some plans a bit. I'm going to start something loosely termed (for now), the Stone Soup Series. This will be a series of retreats aimed at bringing gifted and talented metaphysical folks together to share their knowledge and hopefully do some healing work in the process. The idea is that each of us have something to contribute to making something that will feed all of us, spiritually speaking of course.

Some of the things we hope might come from this experience will be group healing efforts for the land as well as for people who might need it. Also maybe we can talk to one another about our visions of future times and see if we can piece together a vision of some of the earth changes many of us have felt are coming and perhaps talk about what our roles will be when those changes do come.

Once we get to the heart of the retreat series, we will likely move them around from place to place as much as those of us hosting them are able to travel. We envision participants doing some seminars based on their particular gifts or skills. Also perhaps some group rituals if we can figure some out that would be generally helpful or insightful for the group. Perhaps a group journey or focused dreaming. Lots of possibilities there. But there will also be lots of free time for people to relax and get to know one another and make friends with people of similar and dis-similar backgrounds and abilities.

If we can convince her to host the first gathering, we would like to kick off the series at Joyce Omer's home in Kansas City. Joyce is a renowned psychic and a really awesome chef. She and her husband converted an early 20th century, 4 story building in KC into a home complete with a kitchen that would be the envy of most fine restaurants. At this first gathering we would like to actually make stone soup, a pot with meat and a pot without for those vegetarian/vegan participants. Then we would go from there with other retreats in the series.

All this is still in the planning stages, but we might try for the first event later this year. Let me know your thoughts on this idea and if any of you would like to participate.

Sounds great *and* I'm totally up for using the old Green Being farm if needed. We have great camping and a nice place for indoor camping. :)

(aka dharmamomma just in case you didn't know I switched journals *grin*)

I figured it was you. We'll be sure to invite you. KY is a good central place for a lot of people from both the midwest and the southeast.

I would so like to participate. You both are always coming up with so many interesting things to think about.

This is amazing!

I think we are both compiling guest lists so we'll make sure you are on there.
