We've had two successful fireworks shows this year. Vermont on Saturday night and Mt. Sterling on Sunday night. I fired part of the show at Mt. Sterling last night and they got some video of me which you can see here. The first clip is of Rob firing. The second one is me. I caught fire while I was firing. It was humid (always is on the lake) and the fallout was coming straight down. You can see some of it land on me. Anyway, Gwen came and put me out and I never missed beat. We got home after midnight and I had to be up at 5 am to drive back to Joliet.

Our big show of the year is Wednesday at teh Schuyler County Fair in Rushville, IL. Then we have the party at my farm next Saturday and we are done with fireworks until Labor Day.

I just ordered my new/used engine so my car should be back on the road next week. I did have to hit the 1st Bank of Dad up for a small loan which was added to what I was already paying him on something else. Just increases the length of my indentured servitude.

And my best friend Eric Franklin just did an incredibly nice and wonderful thing and asked if he could send me his Nikon D70 DSLR as he is upgrading to a D80 I think. I have some awesome friends and Eric is at the top of the heap. Of course we have known each other for 30 years so we've had time to really get to know one another well. He's one of those that knows where the bodies are buried because he helped me bury some of them.

I'm glad you weren't hurt by the fireworks. The YouTubes are good.

Glad you will be getting your engine this week too. You've got some hot and heavy work to do in the heat.

Great news that your friend is giving you his DSLR. I don't think I've seen any pics since you went out west and posted those. I know you made a trip to N.C. but don't recall you posting any of those photos.

Isn't the idea NOT to catch on fire? Just wondering Tomyris

It's a hazard of the job. Not something you can really help. That's why we have people to put us out.

Dude, it was joke I wrote a smart a** comment to go along with it, but tried to put in some html special effects and it just erased the whole thing...make a note...never let Tomyris write HTML when she has been sick for a week. Bad things could happen. Tomyris

I figured it was a joke but thought I'd respond anywho. Oh and my phone number in Joliet is 815-630-4591.

The 1st Bank of Dad is usually the most reliable. Is he FICA insured?

Doubt it but he's backed up by way more in the bank than I have.

Now how come you only catch on fire when I'm not there? ;)

I thought of you guys while I was watching the 'splosions at the riverside park last night. There weren't any screaming shells, though. Which is probably a good thing considering how many people ignored the posted signs and brought their DOGS to a FIREWORKS SHOW. *headdesk*

We caught someone else on fire last night but we had one of our most perfect shows ever. I'll post videos soon.
