Karmic swing

I got my new (well new to me) DSLR last week thanks to Eric the Viking. New pix to follow shortly. I love it already. Nikon D70. I get my car back tomorrow complete with brand new engine so the vacation to NM in two weeks may still happen. I got a promotion today which will be announced in a bout an hour. I'm now a Production Supervisor instead of a Media Project Manager. It will now be my job to negotiate with printers and media duplicators for the production of our print and media projects. Some really awesome perks in the new position. So the luck is swinging back around now...thankfully.

Peace,

Wander

Double cool. I look forward to seeing some shots. If you want to be an extra kind man slash show-off, I'd be interested in seeing something that shows off its native depth of field (i.e. no addon lenses). Something like one shot of a person's nose, close to camera, in focus, background as out of focus as you can get, then reverse it for background in focus and nose out to get a good contrast.

Negotiating with printers and media duplicators. Cool, now we have something in common with our jobs, as I have to do that too. Only, not so much negotiating as much as "How much is this gonna cost us? Uh-huh, okay, thanks." What are some of the perks?

Yeah, our negotiations don't have a great deal of depth either as you have to print somewhere and there are not that many big players in the game. Some of the perks are box seats and sky boxes for professional sporting events. Getting taken out to dinner often by outside vendor reps who really want your business so they spend lot so money to impress you. An office that's less like a cube and more like an office. Still no door but I have one solid wall and a huge window behind me. Granted it looks out over the Interstate but you have a good view of the Chicago skyline if that sort of thing impresses you. At least you get sunlight during the day. I'll definitely take those pix soon. Already I can tell the overall saturation of the photos is better along with increased depth of field over a point and shoot. Less editing in PhotoShop to do.

We love you anyway. ;^)

It's more thanks to Tomyris-Beat than I - she authorized everything on this end and made things happen. Anyway, I'm glad your karma is swinging the other way. You deserve some good karma for a while!

Heheh. If I'd had telescopic eyes I could have seen the first page and the last page. They were being bound while we were there. I did actually get to hold the cover so it was kind of like having a glass of he liquid from the Holy Grail I guess.

Hey! Glad to hear things are working out for you! Keep that wine aging for me;). We are going to get around to cracking it open sooner or later. (Or you could just come on down to Oz;) ) I hated that I had to sit on airplanes for 25 hours to get lied to when I got back to the good ol' midwest but such is life..and ex-husbands.

Catch up with you soon.
