Disillusionment

I just had to tell Deb that her cousin doesn't think of her as a sister the way Deb does her. I believe I broke her heart. But it had to be done. Gwen is on a destructive path and I'll not have her dragging Deb down with her. I can understand Deb identifying with her cousin, she just tries to emulate her too often and that will get her in a world of trouble. Deb is at the farm and refusing to talk to me for now. I'm sure I'll have a shit storm to deal with tomorrow.

We'll see. We've talked this morning and she seems to understand now what I was trying to tell her all along.

Oh geez. Hopefully it will all be okay soon and the intended long term results can be experienced.

We talked a little bit ago and she said I was right. She said she needed to talk to Gwen and tell her how she felt anyway. Gwen is fine as a person. Just lazy and slovenly. I love her to death but I recognize that she has a whole host of faults and she's just human. She's not really worthy of hero status. And right now she's doing things that I find personally reprehensible. I just don't want to see Deb get dragged down into the same pit that Gwen will find herself in soon. Some people will just run gleefully into disaster no matter how you try to warn them.

I guess it's tricky deciding whether to step in or let the other person find out from their own experience/mistakes.

Glad you two are talking. Family is complicated, even when everyone gets along most of the time. Hope Gwen really hears when Deb is trying to say.

Yep, I know the feeling. Time and time again I watch my sister do it. I hope Deb is okay. That kind of news had to hurt.
