Where are my feet?

So this weekend in Chicago they found a couple of feet without a body. A little later they found the body with no feet. As late as Monday they were talking about doing an autopsy to figure out what the cause of death was.....

Hello, am I the only one who thinks getting your feet cut off might lead to death?

Now they are calling it a hit and run. OK, but you have to get hit by a really fast moving vehicle for your feet to come off right? right?

Ouch. What kind of bumpers does this vehicle have to do something like that? The poor guy.

You expect some weird stuff living in a huge metro area but this is CSI kind of weird.

I remember here in Austin several years back they found a headless body in the town lake. A few days later they found a head in the lake. Then they figured out they wer NOT from the same person.

I used to be an editor in the town in Illinois where the woman drowned her kids a few years back. I shudder to think what is at the bottom of public lakes in this country. Remember Deliverance?

In a possibly related story, Chicago police found 2 human skulls going through baggage in Customs at O'Hare yesterday.

Doesn't inspire a lot of confidence in the local police force does it?

Ewwwwwww!

They still haven't found the body of the guy that came up missing here. The bloodhounds traced his scent down to the docks by the river. They did find a body in the river about 2 weeks ago and it wasn't him.

Unless you know a specific location, bodies are surprisingly hard to find sometimes.

Maybe "Walking Mike's" legs wanted to go back home and he didn't yet...so they did, and ran out of energy powered by the brain.

It's just a bizarre case. Lots of bizzare crimes happen in this area.

Okay, that was on "Bones" last week. Except they found the guy's moldering corpse, then they found the feet a little ways away. It turned out to be pony play gone bad which I do not believe is the case here.

Similar case was on CSI a couple seasons back when they just found some feet.

for many people, movies and television are the only point of reference to the "real world" they've got. kind of frightening...

Very frightening since the media only shows a thin slice of the real world.
