Some weekends just suck

My weekend was so stupid on so many levels I won't bother to go into detail. Here are some highlights.

1) At 1 am Sunday morning, I had just gotten home from a Halloween party uptown. Shortly thereafter, I witnessed a friend punching the inside of his windshield which then shattered. Then said friend zoomed off into the night.

2) At 2 am, while getting ready for bed, I was called by said friend's wife in town to help with fixing his hand or taking said friend to emergency room.

3) At 2:15 am, upon arriving at said friend's house, wife was too drunk to help so I proceeded to dig glass out of cuts on now broken hand. Said friend refused to go to emergency room. So I poured a bottle of peroxide on his hand at which point he threw up. I was in first aid mode or I would have thrown up as well. He should have needed about 10 stitches. If I'd had a curved needle, I'd have done it myself. Instead, I poured some vodka on it (no rubbing alcohol), dried it and applied several butterflies, put a gauze pad on it and wrapped it lightly with tape. Hugged the wife and went home.

4) Sunday at 9 am I broke my only pair of glasses.

5) Helped said friend do chores on Sunday afternoon because we was down a hand.

6) Went fishing at the house of yet another friend and didn't tell anyone else where I was going.

7) Squinted all day without my glasses and could not drive home to the city Sunday night. I can see in the daylight but night vision sucks.

8) Almost wrecked the truck twice driving home from fishing because I couldn't see well in the dark.

9) Left the farm Monday morning at 5:30 am to make it to work by 10 am back in the city. I did this with taped up glasses.

So now that we don't have to pour over all the details, I'll just dazzle you with pretty pictures I took over the last two weekends.

From fishing trip last weekend.

A couple from a different angle on the same pond.

This was in Elmira, IL on my trip down on Saturday. This will be posted in rural_ruin pretty soon.

A one-eyed cat that was sitting on the porch of the Elmira building.

A house I shot in St. Augustine, IL the same day.

A blue heron I shot on Sunday while driving to the fishing spot.

A section of Forest on Forsythe Lane which is a shortcut I use to get to my friend's fishing hole.

Just down the same road near the Curry Chapel cutoff. I also saw a flock of wild turkeys but was not fast enough to shoot them.

Peace,

Wander

It was a wild kitty near as I could tell. Didn't want me anywhere near it. And I've invited you to go house hunting with me.

You shot the Blue Heron?!

MURDERER!

Actually, it seems that the bad weekend is catching. All I can possibly say is, I've lost it all.

Why thank you. I'd have traded my weekend for a quiet fishing trip.

As always ROCKING photos dude. Let's see - I stopped this morning to pick up a coffee and green tea for myself and my sister. When I got to the office parking lot my cell rang, one of the kids was in the nurses office (nothing serious) so I was rushing when I left the car and managed to drop an entire cup of coffee and green tea all over the passenger seat. Destroyed one car seat cover (a Christmas present from E.) one carpeted floor mat ($60 for a set) to replace. Soaked my jacket...glad it's grey I think I can get the stains out and doused one end of the resumes I was carrying...I am still peeling them apart. My car smells like a rolling Dark/Regular with half&half from Panera. E.-wet dry vacced it when I got home. I am hoping that gets rid of most of the smell. It was one of THOSE days. Let's hope Samhain if better.

Happy Halloween. Happy Samhain. Happy Oíche Shamhna. Happy All Saints Day. Happy All Hallows Day. Happy Hop-tu-Naa. Happy Día de los Muertos. Happy Guy Fawkes Night. Happy Ghost Festival.

Guy Fawkes night always sounds to dirty to me. Glad to know someone else as shitty days.

on that note.. guy....you are unfortunately NOT ALONE. I still have Trick or Treating, a job fair, a couple of work meetings and a truck load of laundry to do before weeks end. At least this weekend E. and I get to go see the theatre on Saturday. Karen

Yep, we are still looking forward to that someone showing up. We just bottled the cranberry mead and it's worth the trip!

Would you like a cup of my weekend?
I came home at 2 a.m. Saturday morning with uncooked rice in my underwear and glitter in my hair.

So many things I could say there. But I'll just ask if you went to a wedding?

Ah rocky horror. But how did the rice get in your underwear? Were you only wearing underwear at the time?

Lean forward when everyone throws rice. No matter what you're wearing, you will end up with rice in everything.

Your friend is lucky to have you. Most people (that I know) wouldn't have the patience, even the interest. I need different friends, let's just say.

I was hesitant to break this Ball jar off my neighbor's cat when it got her head stuck in it, but she was on the verge of tears and her husband had already gone to work at 5. She wanted me to try busting the glass carefully. It was halfway broke. I went ahead after envisioning the worst. I think it was my superb choice in hammer, a medium ball peen. Crack, neck around neck, cat runs off like nothing happened, "Cool, see ya!" Zoom!. No blood, especially not mine. Happy neighbor...and kids.

NIce fishing hole.

If said friend had not always done a lot of favors for me, I might not have been so generous. At least I might have teased him a little more for being so stupid. Cat's are interesting critters aren't they? Always finding a way to get into trouble.

Thanks!
