Eating Christmas dinner at the White Mountain Apache Casino and seeing a bunch of Apaches running around in Santa Hats is the very definition of surreal. I got to Pinetop, AZ around 10:15 pm local time. The folks and brother were already at Mass so bringing the church clothes was for not. The storms through the midwest delayed me by 2 days so I drove 700 miles Sunday and 974 miles yesterday. I wouldn't reccommend it. I got some really nice photos of ruins in Texhoma, TX/OK, Conlen, TX, Nara Visa, NM and New Kirk, NM. Hope to visit some AZ ghost towns this week. My green Jetta is now white from road salt but Mr. Bear kept me company and rode on the dash the whole way. He will post on his adventures when we get back.
So dry here. My brother is from Seattle. He and I are suffering sinus issues. Not fun. We had a minor blizzard here this morning. My folks' car broke down a few miles from the resort last week when they got here. Hopefully will be repaired by the time we are supposed to leave on Friday.
I hope that the sinus issue resolves when I get back to a higher relative humidity. Otherwise flying to Phoenix next week could be interesting.
