Better than coffee

Nothing wakes you up in the morning better than blowing a tire in the far left lane of a major metro area interstate during morning rush hour. Fortunately, other drivers tend to get out of the way when pieces of rubber and steel are flying about. I was able to navigate to the right shoulder area on an exit. Still 18 wheelers were going by close enough to feel the wind. I had a nearly new spare in the trunk and within ten minutes had the old one off and new one on and got back on the road.

I've got an appointment with the tire man tonight before going home and enjoying a frittata Deb is making with fresh morels I found this weekend.

Peace,

Wander

I can imagine such an even would be rather tiresome.

But... Mmmorels!

I could actually send you some. I was thinking of that. I used to send them to my brother in Seattle and they got there fine. If I find some more this weekend, you will have some if you like. I'll post pics in a bit.

Thanks, no. It was really the thrill of the hunt. The blasting with my shotgun of the fleeing morel... That's what I miss, even more than pasta with a saffron-white pepper-garlic-morel sauce.

Tonight was frittata. Tomorrow is foil packs with morels, onions and green peppers and maybe a ribeye.

Glad you're okay! I had to deal with a flat tire yesterday as well but it was repairable. What caused your blowout?

That tire was on there when my back struts wore out last fall. I replaced them but I think they wore the tire unevenly and it eventually slipped a steel belt, heated up and blew. I've had that happen before. It didn't have a lot of tread left anyway.

The tire - sorry, it sucks.
The frittata - you are just mean. Now I am hungry!

remind me to cook for you when I come to Dallas. I already know you want to cook for me. Maybe we can make something together. Remind me to send you some of my Tropical Terror hot sauce when you get home.

The good news about the tire is when I put the spare on, everything drove smoothly. There I was thinking I needed new front struts before I drove down there. may still need new front struts but not as dire as I thought it was. Now I can drive a stick shift down there.

Off Topic - badger pelt
Wander,

I have a badger pelt I was about to list on eBay, and something told me I should first ask you if you have need for one, or know someone who does. I was wondering if you would barter for beads or jewelry.

Hey, that would be great. What are you needing as far as beads/jewelry? I love to trade.

Re: Off Topic - badger pelt
Got any picture jasper? I have a hankering. In general I'm looking for non-faceted, non-dyed, larger stones that can hang on a cord by themselves, or be used to make a pendant sort of like these. I like a lot of things I've seen you make, though, so if you have anything you want to offer up, I'm open.

Re: Off Topic - badger pelt
I've got lots of larger picture jasper beads and things that would serve as pendants. I'll look through my stuff tonight, take some photos and send them to you. I'll also send you pics of what I have in stock or can make quickly for finished pieces and we can go from there.

Thanks, I'm gathering up all my Picture Jasper and I'm going to make a few things as well and then send you the pics and we can figure out what a good trade is.
