Possibly the best photo I've ever taken

This was captured quite by luck. It was the last frame of a roll of Kodak 100 ASA Gold film. shooting with an ancient Minolta SRT 101 SLR. Sadly I've lost the negative over the years. I took it in 1993 when I was living in Denver. I was on my way over the mountains, heading to the San Luis Valley very early one morning. This is actually South Park but I don't think you'll see Kenny in there anywhere. My folks have a 16 x 20 of it hanging in their home. Somewhere amidst the stuff from the move last year, I have a 5 x 7 print. Perhaps I can scan it with enough resolution to make bigger prints. Nothing digitally enhanced on this one. What you see is what I saw. I got one chance to take it. I was quite pleased when I saw something had come out on the last negative of that roll.

Peace,

Wander

I think it may have gotten left in a house in Colorado that has since been abandoned itself. With any luck it will come back to me though.

Absolutely incredible.

I think if you take it to Walgreens and have them send it off to their photo restoration folks, they will send it back with a negative. Might be worth checking into.

Yep, I've done that before. But also if I can scan it at say 1200 - 2400 dpi I'll have essentially a digital negative that I can put up on my photo site and maybe sell a few copies.

I was actually pulling over to take a leak when I saw it. You get inspiration at the strangest of times.

Yes. You've got to listen to that desire to share most of all when these moment occur, which is I guess why the camera was invented beyond the camera obscuro.

Sometimes you just get really lucky too. But I think fate/destiny has something to do with being on hand to see things like this, much less capture them.

I hate to say but taking the photo was actually an afterthought to the whole WOW factor of seeing it in the first place. It last maybe 45 seconds before the sun rose higher and it was all gone.

I'd love to have a larger version of that, either in print or digital form.
