Surreal Christmas

When I left Illinois 2 days ago it was 4 degrees out. I'm sitting at Mom and Dad's house on the Coast of NC (ocean is 1/4 mile away)and it's at least in the 50's out there if not warmer. 4 family members of people close to me have passed on in the last 2 weeks. I'm typing with frostbite on 3 fingers of my right hand which I'm now convinced is the Universe's way of telling me there are some things that cannot just be ignored. We are hoping my brother will be able to get on his flight out of Seattle and join us tonight. Debra has not called me to tell me whether she made her train from Joliet, IL to go down and see her Dad's family in Macomb, IL. Her Dad just called to say she didn't get off the train in Macomb and no one can reach her either by cell or by land line. At least I know the weather has improved a bit there. The folks are playing Christmas music and I just heard a song by Martin Mull about how Santa doesn't get stoned on Christmas. I swear my life is nothing if not interesting. Sometimes I wish I was an ostrich and could just stick my head in the sand and let life go by.

Happy Holidays everyone!

Haven't looked at Lj for a while.
Take care of yourself! I know you have to be on the upward swing now. Just have to endure that frostbite. Ouch! I know that is painful.
Here is wishing you only wonderful, joyous things for the rest of your Hoilidays!!

I hope you had a great holiday.

The frostbite caught my eye the first time you mentioned it. So, I pulled out Your Body Speaks Your Mind to have a look.

I think you are correct that this is Universe sending a message - especially since you are a healer and it's affecting your hands. The fingers stretch out to the world and get damaged before the rest of your body.

In the book I looked up fingers and burns. From what I gather there's a few thoughts. Are you extending yourself too far right now or going out on a limb for something/someone? Are you trying to heal something or someone that isn't willing or just isn't ready? Overall this seems to indicate that while your heart and intentions are good, the energy isn't being well received.

Sending healing energy your way and wishing you safe travel...

How's the frostbite? Better and all healthy underneath, I hope?

Martin Mull did a Christmas song?!?! o_O

If you hid your head in the sand, you wouldn't be able to see and capture such COOL photos of things!!!

I know. I was just feeling sorry of myself that day. The skin is falling/peeling off now. Looks like good skin underneath.

Glad to hear there's no infection or gangrene...that would've been a terrible start to 2009.

I've been taking pictures of the various stages. I was thinking from the doctor's description that the skin would get all slimy and fall off but really it's just like a callous over my whole finger/thumbprint that is peeling off. Not so gross as I thought.

Three I know have passed in the last three months. Not as bad as your record, but still distressing.

I'd say Winter time is bad on the old folks but at least one of mine was a young person. Younger than us.
