Dreams afoot

I'm not paying attention to the planets these days but something must be up. Maybe the eclipse thing. Is Mercury retrograde again too? I'm back to remembering my dreams for a bit and sleeping VERY soundly and no one can wake me in the morning. Last night I had a dream I was in a rock band and not a good one either. I was the lead singer. And i think I played something too. Now while I used to be able to sing really well when I was like 10, the whole voice changing and several bouts of pneumonia pretty much have ended all hopes of me being a singer. And I can play one musical instrument well...the radio. But there I was up on stage in all my garage band glory. We were playing at some big hotel. Maybe even a battle of the bands. Afterwards, we are staggering down the hall laughing at something when a hand reaches out of a room and grabs me by the collar and pulls me in. The room is about 10 x 10 and has lots of random crap just laying about on the floor. The hand that pulled me in belongs to Jeff Beck who says, "Great set mate! I really love your stuff!"

I say, "cool Jeff, Thanks!" like it's no big deal that as a new musician, Jeff Beck just gave me a compliment. I look to the door and Jeff say, "We really should wait here for him!'

When I ask who we are waiting for, the door suddenly opens about half way. Jeff slips out saying, "See ya soon Mate!"

Then in walks Scott Weiland. And I'm all excited and exclaim "No fucking way! It's Scott Weiland!"

And he dons the whole admired god rock star persona. The irony here being that I was not excited to meet a real rock god like Jeff Beck but here I am excited to meet a relative Johnny Come Lately like Scott Weiland.

Scott has long hair down to his shoulders. Pretty much 70's Glam rock style. And come to think of it, he's wearing a silver suit like something Bowie would have worn back then. And he says to me, "You guys aren't great but you are pure unlike 99% of the posers out there today. Don't lose that man, don't ever lose that. The music world could use a bunch more guys like you!"

And I'm getting all zen-like and just bobbing my head and saying "Cool..Cool..."

It's then I look down and notice there is a dead guy on the floor. Dressed in a thick brown wool suit with the collar turned up and a greenish yellow scarf around his neck. Kind of a girly scarf too. So I bend down and start going through his pockets (because that's what you do when you find a dead guy on the floor after getting praise from a long-haired, Bowie-suited Scott Weiland.

I found a pack of gum and a pocket knife and a watch and was reaching for his wallet when Scott said, "I'm not sure I'd do that if I were you."

And that's when I woke up.

I'm really hoping that was a meaningless scattering of the sediment in my brain and not someone telling me I should form a rock band.

Maybe a note from the Universe that you're on the right track in a counter-culture sort of way? Warning about not messing around with the dead Suit(s) or maybe a reminder that the Suits are somehow at the base/root of your success????

Interesting appraisal there. You gotta wonder about the people behind dreaming. What they think of how the message looks after it passes through your set of filters.

I like this dream - well, the silver David Bowie suit helps. It was interesting to see what the symbols meant - I was laughing out loud at #5, and I can really see how ALL of them might apply to you right now. Glad you remembered it and shared it.

So here's what I got from my dream-interpreter friend:

1. Music - Big pleasure in life. Rhythm. Harmony. Need to express yourself.

2. Meeting an Artist/Musician - Success will be yours [Chinese fortune cookie!]. Creative display. Also, check for puns in the names of the musicians/celebrities. [if there are any, I don't see 'em, but you might]

3. Stuff all over the place in the room - Cleaning and clearing up. Ready to get rid of something.

4. Dead body - End of a cycle. Something is finally over.

5. Stuff you found - pocket knife: violence, conflict, defense, aggression, seeking more power or fear of it; watch: time, limitation, ready to discover what emotional field surrounds you; gum: pleasure or greed, nourishment, fortune in love affairs [!!! who knew gum could mean all that?].

Gum is some pretty versatile stuff!
