Good Ole Dad

My dad apparently saved some guy's life this morning. The folks were traveling home from IL back to NC. They had stopped at a Dunkin Donuts in Hickory, NC just off I-40 Eastbound. When they got back on the Interstate, a car in front of them swerved to avoid another car who had stopped in the road. The driver who swerved flipped his car. Dad pulled over and ran to help and pulled the driver out of the car which caught fire a short time later. Emergency crews arrived and got the fire out before it consumed the car, but still...

Way to go DAD! The man constantly amazes me.

Peace,

Wander

Ordinary heroes are the real heroes, I always say. Three cheers for your father's courage and great heart!

Retired Marine officer who devotes probably 3/4 of his free time to Boy Scouting. I doubt he thought twice about going to help.

Oh. So people actually do it. I thought I was just a foreigner, when I was helping two Japanese girls while others were all passing by...

Good to know.

He's always been a real role model even when I didn't always agree with him.

Your dad! I'm telling you, he's going to need a cape of some kind pretty soon.

I think he already has one tucked away in a closet at home.

Having finally met you, I am unsurprised your father is a hero.

He's always been a hero. I wasn't that surprised. Typical of how he thinks, when asked to explain more about it today, he said, "Will do later. Meeting a Scouting deadline at the moment. It boils down to
don't lock your brakes and sharply turn your front wheels at the same time."

I have no idea what I'd have done in that situation. I like to think I'd have done the same thing but who knows until it happens to them.

I know you now. You'd have done the same, or tried your best.
