Rescued

I'm back from the press OK. Nothing real exiting. I only stayed up for 27 straight hours on this one. My boss went with me and we had a good time. Don't think I'd have gotten away with a $45 bottle of Chardonay and 6 Margaritas on my expense report if I went alone so that part was good. Nothing like getting a good buzz on with your boss and spilling all the dirty little secrets. And of course I had my boss riding in the car when I spied the lonely little buxom blonde hitchiker with the halter top and the short shorts going up her butt crack out front of the truck stop. I haven't seen oneof those in years so it figures my boss was wiht me and I couldn't stop to pick her up.

I was again taking stock of my vinyl album collection yesterday now that I've found some missing due to the divorce debacle. Here's a list of the "classics" I managed to save from her:

Jethro Tull - Aqualung
Meatloaf - Picture Disk of Bat Out of Hell & Dead Ringer
Beach Boys - Endless Summer & The In Concert Album
The Byrds - Greatest Hits
J. Geils Band - Nightmares and Otehr Tales from The Vinyl Jungle & Love Stinks
Uriah Heep - Demons and Wizards
Bachman Turner Overdrive - BTO II (with the original recording of Taking Care of Business)
Simon and Garfunkel - Parsley Sage Rosemary and Thyme
The Doors - Strange Days
Paul Simon - There Goes Rhymin Simon
Arlo Guthrie - Alice's Restaurant
Peter Frampton - Frampton Comes Alive & Frampton's Camel
Queen - Live Killers, News of the World, The Works, A Night at the Opera--It would appear the Bitch got away with Queen's Jazz album, the one with the poster of the nude bicycle race and that imortal song "Fat Bottomed Girls" Damn her all to hell.
David Bowie - The Man Who Sold The World, Young Americans, Diamond Dogs, Pinups, Changes One, Space Oddity...Thank God she never made it to my Bowie Collection.
Paul McCartney and Wings - Band on the Run
Lynyrd Skynryd - One More From The Road & Pronounced Leh-nerd Skin-nerd
ELO - Eldorado, A New World Record, OLE ELO
Iron Butterfly - In A Gadda Da Vidda
Bob Dylan &The Band - Live:Before The Flood
Now Here's an interesting one The Cover is The Village People :Cruisin which yes I unfortunately bought back during the Disco era. But inside is the album Black Sabbath: Paranoid. Kind of a funny contradiction there ain't it?
Foreigner - Foreigner & Double Vision
Nazareth - Expect No Mercy
Peter Gabriel - Peter Gabriel
Billy Joel - The Stranger
America - Home Coming, Hearts, Hideaway --I've got a thing for America Albums that begin with the letter H...Just Kidding
Seals & Crofts - Summer Breeze
Harry Chapin - Greatest Stories - Live
DEVO - Freedom of Choice
Grateful Dead - Skeletons from the Closet
Steppenwolf - 16 Greatest Hits
Duran/Duran - Rio and the original self titled album--yes I was once a D/D fan
Steve Miller Band - Book of Dreams
Cheap Trick - Live at Budokan
Supertramp - Even in the Quietest Moments
CCR - Green River & The Concert
Sweet - Desolation Boulevard --A Real classic with both Ballroom Blitz and Fox on the Run
Bob Dylan - John Wesley Harding & Greatest Hits
Joan Jett & The Blackhearts - I Love Rock and Roll
Kansas - Point of Know Return, Leftoverture, Monolith
Nantucket- Nantucket--A great NC beach band from the late 70's
Zebra - Zebra
Eagles - Hotel California, Greatest Hits
Blue Oyster Cult - On Your Feet or On Your Knees & Tyranny and Mutation
Styx - Grand Illusion, Equinox, Cornerstone, Crystal Ball
The Cars - Shake It Up & Panorama
Jim Croce - I Gotta Name
The Who - Tommy (2 copies)
38 Special - Flashback
Elton John - Goodbye Yellow Brick Road
Janis Joplin and Full Tilt Boogie - Pearl
Pink Floyd - The Wall (of course), Wish You Were Here and Probably the most valuable Vinyl album I own - The Original Master Recording of Dark Side of the Moon which actually sounds better than a CD.
Molly Hatchet - Molly Hatchet
Teegarden and Van Winkle - Self Titled
Rolling Stones - Sticky Fingers
Moody Blues - Voices in the Sky & Days of Future Passed (2 copies of this as well)
Doobie Brothers - Best of the Doobies
The Beatles - Hey Jude & Rock and Roll Music Vol. I - plus I have a 45 rpm of Let It Be on the original Apple Label.
Jay Ferguson - Thunder Island
Joe Walsh - You Can't Argue With A Sick Mind
Neil Young - Harvest
Boston - Don't Look Back

Now I'll just have to figure out what else she ripped off and try to replace those.

Well I'm headed to the farm now. Hope all my friends have a good weekend.

Peace,

Wander

Pink Floyd.
Is there anyone in existence who DOESN'T own The Wall? I can't believe it's still selling strong. I mean who's just now getting around to buying that album?

Re: Pink Floyd.
All the junior high to high school age kids who are just getting turned on to it plus all the old hippies like me who want to replace thier vinyl album collection with CDs. When I was in high school was when the flick first came out as well as the album and concert production. I saw the tour, I went to the opening day of the movie (I think you get more out of it if you're not stoned actually) and of course I bought the album. In fact you were thought not to be real cool if you didn't own the album. It was one of those things like AC/DC's Back in Black or Frampton Comes Alive (back in the late 70s) that if you didn't own it, you didn't fit in.

You've got "Parsley Sage Rosemary and Thyme" huh? *seethes* Time for another trip to the feed store.

My parents have two boxes of old vinyl albums in the closet. They've got some of the early Bill Cosby comedy albums, a lot of ELO (my mom's), just about every one of the New Christy Minstrels albums, and for some unknown reason, a Sonny and Cher album. Which we're thinking might be valuable now that Sonny Bono has died, but we're not sure.

Re:
Go to a recycled record store and find out. Just your saying it is you parents that have boxes of vinyl albums in the closet makes me feel old. I have the Bill Cosby albums too.

Don't feel old. I used to have records, but they were all given away. So I've laid claim to all the Bill Cosby and New Christy Minstrel records. Now if only there was a needle in the record player, I'd be set.
