Two qustions for the teachers out there

1. Why is there no E on the traditional grading scale? Logically, shouldn't "E" follow "D"? F supposedly stands for failing but the other letter grades don't stand for anything. What bozo thought this system up?

2. I've been wondering this one for awhile. How are the different color of gel and paste in Aquafresh toothpaste kept separate in the tube? I've cut open a tube before and it just looks like a big mess.

I think that there used to be Es in elementary school. Remember, now, I was six years old, so my memory isn't too reliable, but I heard a teacher once comment about a girl who moved to the elem. I went to from Georgia. She said that the mother complained about the girl getting As because in the Georgia school, As meant "awful" and E meant "excellent."

Keep in mind, this was retrieved from the mind of the same six-year-old who stared out the front window and wondered why two cars passing each other in front of the house didn't hit each other head-on. The concept of "lanes" was unfamiliar to her.

As for the toothpaste, I use AquaFresh and I haven't been getting nice stripes at all. Maybe it's because I'm using the sensitive variety, but the stripe quality is nonexistent.

Re:
Yeah, I used the sensitive variety once and it's watered down or something. I just got a new tube of the regular stuff and it has nice clear stripes. I'll bet Chem Boy would know?

When I was in elementary school, you could get an E for Effort, so if you got an A but no E then you were goofing off but you were just smart, and an F wasn't so bad if you got an E for Effort because at least you were trying. It seemed rather stupid.

Re:
That is so cool but unfortunately, the little demo of filling the tubes makes the tubes look like condoms and you gotta wonder about red, white and blue stripes.

The reason...
I asked about the E thing and someone finally told me the answer. They're really old, crusty, and have been teaching since Moses learned to read so I trust them.

The "powers that be" decided that when making the grading scale that E would be bad cause the first descriptive word that came to mind for E was excellent. They didn't want kids who were dumb enough to get Es confused so they dropped it. All the other letters use to have words associated with them too but they just finda fell by the wayside.

D- Dumbass, plain and simple.
F- Fuck me! (you mean there are actually kids this dumb taking my class?)
