Road Trip

First off. Happy Holidays to everyone no matter how you choose to celebrate! Tomorrow morning I start the yearly holiday trek to NC. I have everyone's contact info so I'll try to get out and see everyone at some point in the next 9 days.

We got tons of presents from bosses and co-workers over the past couple of days. Another artist gave me a bottle of Jack Daniels and a couple etched glasses. Another photo editor gave me a jar of homemade strawberry jam. Last night I went down to the farm to get the house cleaned up because Deb will be staying there part time over the holidays and bringing the new kitty. I had to put a new wheel on the tractor and get it put back in the barn. Such a a great joy to sit down on a cold iron tractor seat when the temp is 23 and the wind chill is -5. I also got a wild hair and decided to make gooseberry jelly. I made 9 jars. Actually, I hate gooseberry anything but my bosses love it and it was a cheap and creative way to give gifts. Think I'll give a jar to my dad too. Anyone in NC want a jar of gooseberry jelly?

I've gotta pack tonight so I can leave before noon and hopefully get to NC by midnight or so. Picking up the car at the airport at 10:30 am and heading out from there. It's been almost a year since I've been on a longroad trip alone. I'm looking forward to it.

Well, about 10 minutes and I'm Casper. I'll be checking email and such sporadically over the next two weeks. Send all email to me at dierker@frontiernet.net if you want me to get something. I'll check that when I can.

Have a great time everyone!

Peace and long life!!

If it's what I think you REALLY are gonna regret asking that. LOL.

Re:
Just so I don't forget to do this. A gooseberry is a little round berry about the size of a blueberry. They grow in woodsy lowlands around the midwest. They are a yellowish green in color with a very tart flavor. Almost like a lemon. I'm not sure if they grow in the Carolinas or not. They are definitely an acquired taste. Some people like them and some hate them. My Dad loves them.
