The skin I'm in

You know one of the sweetest feelings in the world? When you climb in bed naked with another naked person. If they have been there long enough, their skin is already warm and yours is cooler. The brief moment of the melding of warm and cool until the cool is warmed by the warm. That is one of the sweetest feelings in the world and it only seems to happen this time of the year.

Last night instead of working late, I left work nearly on time so we could celebrate. Deb got a promotion after 9 1/2 years of working here and consequently a raise. Of course she couldn't help mentioning the fact that she makes more money now than I do. Of course I'm still technically in a position of authority over here. Little things we tease each other with from time to time. Anyway, her mom took us out to Leonardo's for pizza. Plastic grapes hanging from the ceiling is an interesting touch and contributes to the surreal atmosphere in that place but the two of them seem to like it so I went along for the ride, had a glass of sangria and contributed to the conversation as much as possible. But those two were like magpies as usual so it was hard to get a word in edgewise.

Her mom left from there and headed home. We rented a couple DVD's and headed home too. K-Pax which I highly recommend and Bandits which I saw in the theater and liked as well. We got home and she promptly fell into the sleepy sexy mood which I like so much. Problem was she was a bit more sleepy than she realized and he evening of slow lovemaking I'd anticipated turned into an early bedtime for her. Which was fine, she fell fast asleep naked under the covers with me holding her.

9 pm was too early for me to sleep though so after awhile, I got up, put on some shorts and headed out to the living room to watch K-Pax. We had windows and doors opened so I turned the surround sound down to where I could just hear it. No need to piss off the neighbors. I remembered I had recorded a TV show from earlier and watched an hour of that before turning on the movie. I reveled in the breeze blowing through the house on the first night warm enough to wear shorts. The cats both went out on the sunporch to enjoy the breeze and the night sounds.

At about 2 am, I was finally sleepy enough to go to bed. So I turned off all the lights, got undressed and climbed in next to my sweetie for that sweet feeling I mentioned above. After my skin had warmed to hers, I lifted back the comforter and let the breeze from the open window blow across us. The air was just warm enough it didn't raise goosebumps and the two of us kept each other warm enough to sleep uncovered for several hours....sweet bliss.

And today is supposed to be even warmer with thunderstorms moving in after midnight. I'll be watching the light show from the front porch at the farm. I just love this time of year.

Re: hmm.
Deb does that to me in the winter. I'm always very warm and she always puts her cold feet on me. I swear she has no natural circulation.

I loved K-Pax. Nice choice of music too. Elton is great. I am so happy because I finally caught up to some of the world and got myself a DVD player last week. There is nothing better than shutting off the lights and watching a good movie. I actually prefer watching movies alone. Especially the good ones. I guess I'm sort of a loner though. I am one of those people who NEEDS alone time every day. In fact, I think I am going to watch AI before bed cause this post just reminds me how good that sounds. Thanks.

Yeah, I crave alone time too. I get lots more accomplished that way...on all levels.
